I just bought this vacuum to replace my old stand, which was not doing the best job (dramatic loss of suction) and I was tired of buying those expensive filters all the time. This fits the bill for me, without buying more filters (filters are washable), the price was right, and my daughter had one for almost 3 years and still works great. I believe that my old vacuum was running worse than I thought, because when I vacuum my living room carpet (8 'x 10 ') Bissell filled the cup with this dirt! And I had just vacuumed and shampooed a week ago! I do not live in the countryside and have a dog and a cat that could explain the embarrassing excessive dirt and fur in a small area. This vacuum is very easy to use, lightweight, easy to maneuver around, and powerful. After the purchase of first and being impressed with the Bissell steam mop, and now this Bissell vacuum, I can safely say that I am a dedicated customer Bissell.

I 'm not sure that it is possible to evaluate all the positive and negative comments about a vacuum and take a wise decision. How many times have you read in a vacuum reviews how the buyer was amazed at how much dirt and dust of the new vacuum that picked their old vacuum had left behind? Perhaps the old items are worn or consumed? RI 'm replace my Eureka Optima I absolutely love. New thick carpet in the basement (following a flood) is not a match for the non-adjustable so that the cabin is moved to Eureka and Bissell # 2 resumes duty vacuum cleaner in the basement. Upstairs is the charge of my Kenmore. # 35922nd Emptiness Kenmore had critics raving positively a few years ago. I bought one and I am quite satisfied. Today, when I put the Bissell carpet and ran over the inlet to the Kenmore just yesterday I found ........ you guessed it - hair of the dog and took a spoonful of dirt into fine powder. (It may be the remains of some Arm & Hammer carpet freshener, but in both cases has not been picked up by the redoubtable Kenmore). Perhaps the Kenmore needs a tune-up and maybe, just maybe, Bissell has squeezed $ 300 worth of benefits from a Kenmore $ 46 (Wal-Mart) Bissell. Ri 'll write again in six months and let you know how he is doing the newbie.

I was almost afraid to buy this vacuum as the price was so low, but I was desperate for a new vacuum because our other brands, much more expensive, vacuum was falling apart. Boy was I pleasantly surprised! Its lightweight, easy to use and has a little power. I don 't usually make those comments, but I felt compelled to post this after seeing the unjustified low ratings that Consumer Reports gave this vacuum. This vacuum is a great value.
